Each year. Every year.
It was important to visit with Santa, just to be certain that he knew what we wanted to find under our Christmas tree.
Often the meeting location was the local mall. But just as often it was the work or office Christmas party.
The location was not the important point. The essential point of the outing was ensuring Santa was aware of the expectations.

Christmas; I was given a picture of a Santa ,a old photo and was asked by my father if I knew whom it was ? I looked at it and told my father ( Jim hadden) that I wasn’t sure but knowing my dad I said is that you?and sure Enough he said yes,im now wondering if that is him in some other photos of Santa they sure look like the same Santa ?..
